Connecting claude.ai and ChatGPT (web connectors)

The claude.ai and ChatGPT websites cannot send custom headers, so they sign in through a small authorization page hosted by your own JEDWare integration instead. You still use the same API key, entered once in a browser rather than pasted into a config file.

Steps (claude.ai)

  1. In claude.ai, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the URL https://<your-3cx-address>/jedware/mcp and add it.
  3. A JEDWare page opens: “Connect Claude to JEDWare”. Paste your JEDWare API key and click Allow access.
  4. Claude can now answer questions about your call and chat statistics.

ChatGPT and other web-based assistants that support remote MCP servers follow the same pattern: add the server URL, then approve access on the JEDWare page.

Good to know

  • The sign-in uses standard OAuth with short-lived tokens issued by your own server. Your API key is never stored by the AI provider.
  • Revoking the API key in the JEDWare app also cuts off these browser connections within minutes.
  • The connection is per system: to give an assistant access to two 3CX systems, add each system’s URL with its own key.
